Michael Andre captures Singles at Air Force Academy

Boys 14 standout Michael Andre, playing the #1 seed for Intermountain, shoots down all competitors to go undefeated in Singles this month at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. "It was an honor to represent the Intermountain Section and the Darling Tennis Center this year and 'Thank you' to the Air Force Academy for hosting this exciting event".

Darling HP Juniors travel to Ojai, California

Head Coach Saad Ashraf was looking for a way to inspire his top high performance juniors before the Summer break. His idea... take them to compete in the annual prize money tournament held in Ojai. It was an exciting trip and the kids came back so motivated they began practicing at 6am (ouch!)

Faith Crusaders win the Red Rock Conference!

Faith Lutheran Boys tennis team came in 1st place, and the Faith Girls Middle School tennis team took 2nd place at the recent Red Rock Conference. The Faith Crusaders, coached by our very own Jeff Foley and hosted here at the Darling Tennis Center, is getting stronger and stronger, with many of the middle school players moving up to the high school team this August.

Foley said, "We love having the kids play and train out of Darling, it brings great energy and fits right into our community tennis mindset." Congratulations, players and coaches!

Scientists discover missing link

Researchers from Cal Berkley's Sports Anthropology lab have discovered the exact point in time when Human man first ceased to use the single handed backhand and switched to the now famous 'two hander'. This is said to be a milestone in the understanding of how the modern game of tennis is played.

Findings from the group will be published in the Journal of Nature next month.
