YTAI ABOUGZIR

Tennis Professional

Ytai was born in Be’er Sheva, Israel. He moved to Florida in 1991 and went on to rank #1 in the nation for the Boys 14 and Under by 1997. That same year, he won 3 of the biggest tennis tournaments: Easter Bowl, National Clay Court and Hard Courts. By 2001, he won the Australian Open Doubles Title and became #1 in the world in the ITF Ranking (International Tennis Federation) in singles and #5 in doubles.  
He turned pro at the age of 18 and played professionally for 3 years before deciding to attend Florida State University on a full scholarship in 2004. At FSU, his team made it to the finals of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Tournament and to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournaments – both were firsts in the school’s history. They ended up ranking 9 overall – also a best at the time.  After graduating, he decided to teach tennis. He has been teaching tennis in the Summerlin area since 2014. He has a wife named Mary and a beautiful baby girl named Ziva Olive.
